If you're anything like me, the word 'holidays' is practically synonymous with lipstick. You don't care whether it's a festive red, a sexy nude, or a blushed pink, any and every occasion you find fit, you're gonna slap it on.
Now, let's be honest. No matter how much high-end makeup costs, you're most likely still going to buy it. Because what beats the feeling of running a silky smooth lipstick over the curves of your lips as you hold on to a weighty and luxurious lipstick bullet? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
At the same time, high-end makeup can be rather burdening on the wallet (at least for my own). So my suggestion is that one should only splurge on a few classics, and for all the other lipsticks, look for dupes! There are tons of affordable, quality makeup brands that create lipsticks almost identical to the shades of luxury brands like Charlotte Tilbury, MAC, Pat McGrath, even Christian Louboutin.
So if you've been lusting for luxury lipstick, check out some of the dupes first! Here are 12 totally affordable lipstick shades that are exactly the same as some of the trendiest high-end lipsticks you've been wanting to buy.
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Very Victoria ($39)
Dupe:Colour Pop Lippie Stix in Parker ($5.16 on sale)
Made popular by your soon-to-be Highness, Very Victoria by Charlotte Tilbury is Meghan Markle's rumoured go-to nude shade with a beautiful matte-satin finish. Colour Pop's Lippi Stix in Parker is a very close dupe that's perhaps even more pigmented and more matte than Very Victoria.
Pat McGrath MatteTrance Lipstick in Deep Void ($52)
Dupe:Colour Pop Ultra Satin Lip in Hutch ($6.20)
Pat McGrath's lipsticks have been literally named some of the best lipsticks in the world. From its quality, the pigment, shade range, the formula, to the design of the bullet, there's nothing that can compare. But if you're looking for the same shade as one of it's deepest, most sumptuous shades, Deep Void, Colour Pop has it. With a similar satin finish, but slightly lighter, is Colour Pop's Hutch.
MAC Retro Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo ($22)
Dupe:Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Very Cherry ($10)
MAC's cult-favourite red lipstick Ruby Woo is a cool tone red with a beautiful matte finish that looks stunning on cooler skin tones, while Maybelline's Very Cherry is an incredibly close dupe but with a slightly glossier finish and brighter pigment.
Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick in Kim K W ($39)
Dupe:NYX High Voltage Lipstick in French Kiss ($7.38)
Charlotte Tilbury's sultry pink beige nude lipstick, Kim K W, is just glossy enough so that your lips look plump but just matte enough so that the finish is elegant and natural. Similarly to NYX's French Kiss, the shade is a soft pink beige but at a fraction of the cost.

Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color in Uncensored ($30)
Dupe:Colour Pop Ultra Satin Lip in Ambush ($6.19 on sale)
Pretty much everything RiRi touches turns to gold, or well, liquid gold in this case. Her Fenty Beauty line set the trend for inclusivity like no other in the beauty industry and her Uncensored Stunna Lip Paint is no exception. While it can be a bit costly, Colour Pop's Ultra Satin Lip in the shade Ambush is a gorgeous satin finish dupe for the one shade fits all Stunna lip paint and it's just as stunning.
Mac Lipstick Dupe List
MAC Nicki Minaj Lipstick in Nicki's Nude ($22)
Dupe:Maybelline Color Sensation Inti-matte Nudes in Honey Pink ($9.99)
Though the image above doesn't do it much justice, the two shades are actually incredibly alike under the same lighting. Nicki's Nude is a top-selling limited edition MAC lipstick that looks incredible on many skin tones. If you're looking for a much more affordable option, Maybelline's Honey Pink is just as beautiful. Though slightly less glossy, you can add a bit of gloss on top to truly dupe Nicki's Nude.
MAC Patrick Starrr Lipstick in MamaStarrr ($22)
Dupe:Colour Pop Ultra Satin Lip in Reign ($6.20 on sale)
I can personally say that I own PatrickStarrr's new MAC Collection and oh mygowd, I adore it. But I can also say that Colour Pop's Ultra Satin Lip in Reign is pretty much the same as the beautiful deep beige nude, MamaStarrr. Though the formula is more satin than MamaStarr, which is matte, the finish really compliments the shade.
Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Colour in Plum Rose ($49.93)
Dupe:Coloured Rain Satin Finish Lipstick in Foxy Lady ($21.92)
Bobbi Brown's sexy and sultry deep plum shade, Plum Rose, from the Luxe Lip Colour line has been the talk of the town. Though absolutely stunning, Coloured Rain's Foxy Lady lipstick is just as beautiful with just a slightly darker tinge and a true satin finish with less shine.
Kylie Cosmetics Velvet Lipstick in Red Velvet ($34.82)
Dupe:Wet n Wild MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick in Missy and Fierce ($6.43)
If you couldn't get your hands on Kylie's Red Velvet Liquid Lipstick from her holiday collection, have no fear because Wet n Wild's got your back. Their MegaLast Matte Lipstick in Missy and Fierce is a bright and warm red that matches the Kylie lipstick almost exactly. Plus, it's a hell of a lot cheaper too.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow N Arrow ($24)
Dupe:Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lip in Beeper ($6.20)
Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are the real deal - highly pigmented and super long-lasting with a lightweight finish. Bow N Arrow is definitely a beauty community favourite. If you want to opt for a more affordable option with the same shade and finish, Colour Pop's Ultra Matte Lip in Beeper is the one.
Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick in Lady Balls ($25)
Dupe:Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in Always Red ($18)
Though I understand that the Sephora Collection isn't 'drugstore', it's definitely a cheaper alternative to Too Faced's gorgeous Melted Matte Lipstick in Lad Balls. Don't overlook this Sephora item because the pigment is just as high and the shade is essentially the same
Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer ($23)
Dupe:Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Rosy Future ($7.67)
Though tons of ladies swear by Fenty's Gloss Bomb, I can't help but to think that there are so many similar lipglosses on the market that are pretty much the same thing at less than half the cost. One that comes to mind is Revlon's Rosy Future lipgloss. With similar shade, shine, finish, and a super affordable price, Revlon definitely get the stars in my books.
MAC is one of the most popular brands around, but if you don’t want to pay full price, there are tons of great MAC dupes out there.

MAC Cosmetics has been a mainstay of the makeup world for decades now, and its products are both iconic and sometimes controversial. After MAC battled claims that they are not entirely cruelty-free, some customers began to turn from their long-loved shades to find new options. Not to mention, a single MAC lipstick will set you back $18.50, which could be used to buy two whole pizzas (or other delicious equivalent)!
Mac Eyeshadow Dupes List
Considering all this, I’ve put together a list of the best MAC dupes around. (All recommendations are confirmed cruelty-free unless otherwise stated.)
For your base:
MAC Foundation Dupes:
We’re starting with MAC’s most-loved base product: The Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 ($30) provides an airbrushed matte finish and has notably high coverage.
A great dupe for Studio Fix Fluid is the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation ($7.99), which is just as long-lasting and shine-free for a fraction of the price. L’Oreal’s True Match Foundation ($7.59) is another great option if you’re looking for that flawless base.
(Please note that neither Maybelline nor L’Oreal are entirely cruelty-free. Cruelty-free companies include NYX and Milani — see our list of the best NYX products for more on this brand.)
MAC Concealer Dupes:
Makeup artists and average folk alike have raved about MAC’s Pro Longwear Concealer ($24) for years, but there are cheaper options on the market. I’d recommend the NYX HD Concealer ($4.99) or the Sonia Kashuk All Covered Up Concealer ($9.98) for a similar finish and amount of coverage.
MAC Blush Dupes:
MAC’s Soft & Gentle Mineralize Skinfinish ($34) gives a lit-from-within glow to the face, but you can get the same luminous look from the Wet ‘n’ Wild To Reflect Shimmer Palettes ($5.99) or the ELF Baked Blush in Pinktastic ($4), which is my favorite cheap highlighter — it gives such a pretty sheen!
MAC Setting Spray Dupes:
Back in the early days of Youtube beauty gurus, everyone was dousing their face with a generous spray of MAC Fix+ ($26), but now other brands have released their own setting sprays that lock in your makeup just as well. My personal favorites are the ELF Mist & Set ($3.99), which contains green tea and other beneficial ingredients, and the NYX Dewy Setting Spray ($8.50) for the perfect dewy look.
For your eyes:
MAC Paint Pot Dupes:
For eye makeup products, MAC is well-known for their Paint Pots ($24), especially the shades Painterly and Soft Ochre, which prime the lids for intense colors, but if you’re not looking to drop $24 on an eyeshadow base, NYX Eyeshadow Base ($7) will prep your lids in the same way. You could also just use concealer on your lids and dust it over with some translucent setting powder for a similar effect.
For your lips:
MAC Lipstick Dupes:

And now, the most iconic MAC product of them all — lipstick. MAC has released so many shades that I’m just going to dupe some of the most popular ones here.
Now it wouldn’t be a MAC post if we didn’t mention Ruby Woo ($18.50). This matte blue-red has dominated the red lipstick market for years, but its formula errs on the drying side.
If you want a more moisturizing formula and a cheaper price tag, I’d recommend NYX Full Throttle Lipstick in Up the Bass ($3.49), which has a unique bullet for precise application. A long-wearing liquid lipstick option would be Colourpop’s Ultra Matte Lip in Creeper ($6.50), which is slightly warmer than Ruby Woo but just as beautiful.
MAC’s Marrakesh ($18.50) is another of their bestsellers. It’s a unique deep orange-brown that is currently out of stock, but never fear! Colourpop’s Lux Lipstick in Gallop ($7) is a very similar shade and has a nice creamy formula.
I’d say Velvet Teddy ($18.50) is as iconic in the MAC line as Ruby Woo is, and for good reason! It’s a beige nude that complements every skin tone, but luckily for you, Wet ‘n’ Wild also has a wildly popular nude lipstick, Bare It All ($4.28), for a much lower price. I’ll guarantee this will become one of your most-used lipsticks in no time!
